UTHealth Houston School of Public Healthinvites applications for a full-time non-tenure track teaching faculty member within theDepartment of Management, Policy and Community Health (MPACH). In evaluating applications, the search committee seeks evidence of outstanding research and teaching in healthcare management. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent).

We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence. Expertise in healthcare strategy and operations is of particular interest.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will teach the MPACH capstone course and the appropriate Healthcare Management courses, as well as advise students and provide support for student and program development. They will teach online (synchronous and asynchronous) to students state-wide and face-to-face at the Houston campus. This faculty member will have an office on the Houston campus and work collaboratively with faculty at all of the six locations of the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate or the equivalent professional degree in a discipline related to health administration. The position is open to a diverse range of disciplines including but not limited to health administration, health policy, health services, and management/leadership.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with knowledge of inclusive and active teaching practices, as well as being facile in competency-based teaching and assessment.

  • Experience teaching face-to-face, online synchronous, and asynchronous; experience with experiential learning; ability and willingness to teach at off-campus sites as needed.

  • Demonstrated innovative approach to student engagement through the use of novel instructional designs that maximize the learning experience in different teaching modalities.

  • Involvement in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

  • Work experience within the past 10 years in health care administration or a related field preferred.
