UTHealth Houston Department of Human Resources, Payroll & Benefits is hiring HR Summer Interns to join their team in the Texas Medical Center. Through this Internship, each Intern will have access to HR tools and seasoned HR professionals and be given the opportunity to develop a well-rounded understanding of HR operations within their department of hire.
About the Human Resources Summer Internship
The summer internship program is a paid, on-site program that will consist of 40-hour work weeks lasting June 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025, culminating with an end-of-program presentation.
Functional Area: Recruitment Operations Analyst
The Recruitment Operations Analyst will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology to support a large healthcare client group with innovative projects and data story-telling . HR is so much more than paper – and UTHealth Houston incorporates the latest AI software to enhance candidate and client experience. Projects may include sourcing, data analysis, presentations, and recruitment forecasting. You will get to build relationships with schools and hospitals while learning how to use the latest technology to find great candidates! In addition to supporting the assigned functional area, each intern will participate in monthly UTHealth Houston internship engagement events, giving all interns an opportunity to come together as a cohort to learn about UTHealth Houston components, collaborate and share on current projects, and engage in social activities as a group. In addition:
Attend and complete all training modules, webinars, tours, and other training activities as scheduled.
Facilitate at least one bi-weekly meeting with the internship cohort.
Learn and adapt to any required technology, demonstrating a commitment to quickly gaining entry-level proficiency.
Interview and Selection Timeline
Applications for the Internship Program will be collected through Sunday, December 9, 2024. Virtual interviews with hiring leaderswillbeginthe week of January 13, 2025,running through February 14, 2025.All offers will beextendedby Friday, March 7, 2025, if not sooner.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal Candidate: The HR intern is someone who is results-oriented, highly initiative-driven, and demonstrates a strong motivation and capacity to learn.They should possess proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.The HR Intern should be customer-focused, capable of working independently, innovative, and eager to explore new areas. Superior communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, along with critical thinking and analytical skills. The candidate should have strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally. Being independently driven and a self-starter is crucial for success in this role.
Education: Currently enrolled student or recent graduateofabachelor'sprogramwith a major in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or closely related field.
Schedule: Must be available to work40-hour work weeksbeginningJune 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025.
Location: On-site in the Texas Medical Center/Hybrid schedule dependent on HR functional area of hire.Discounted parking will beavailable on-site.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
