Bureau Vertias North America SMETA Lead Auditor in Texas
Bureau Veritas Certification Auditors and Lead Auditors perform audits per Bureau Veritas Certification Management System requirements, requirements of the applicable standards, including APSCA and Oversight Body requirements. The auditor is responsible to make relevant decisions concerning the audit process and to inform Bureau Veritas Certification as required to resolve issues both within and outside the audit process. The auditor is responsible to collect and analyze sufficient objective evidence to provide a recommendation for certification. Lead Auditors have authority for the control and performance of the audit activities, including audit planning and report writing and the management of other members of audit teams. This role will be responsible for the audit report completion and submission of files to POV, as well as the management and close-out of Nonconformities identified during the conduct of the third party audit. Additional responsibilities may include liaising with the relevant departments (including Schedulers and Account Managers) as well as completion of Technical file review and Internal Witness audits (as applicable). The Third Party Certification SMETA Auditor shall maintain proper credentials/qualifications and attend required training, as needed, to ensure continual and systemic improvement.
ACCOUNTABILITIES PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Audit Report Completion and submission
Manage and close-out NCs identified during Audit activities
Professional interface with clients, audit team members and BV Back Office as needed
Management and oversight of Audit activities and distribution of workload to Team members
Update Workflows and Databases, as appropriate
Identify process efficiencies to optimize workflow and improve First Time Through rate; Audit Plan submission within defined KPIs; Audit activity completion as per Work order; Audit report submission within defined KPIs; Technical File Review defect responses completed in a timely manner; Maintenance of Auditor credentials/qualifications; Contribute to improving First Time Through
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE KEY COMPETENCIES
Degree or equivalent
Registered in the APSCA database as CSCA Auditor
Have satisfactorily completed a recognized Lead Auditor training course in Occupational
Health & Safety, Environmental and Social Accountability / CSR management Systems.
The course(s) must include an examination, which must be passed to evidence satisfactory completion.
Have competent working knowledge of recognized Occupational Health & Safety,
Environmental and Social Accountability / CSR Management System auditing standards and procedures.
3-10 years of industry experience
Have had performed at least 30 days of audits on SMETA, SA 8000 or ETI base code in last 12 months.
(As required for Social Accountability standards) maintenance of CPD requirements
