Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in the Woodlands, Texas
Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Environmental Services industry located in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will contribute to the efficient operation of the accounting department and will focus on managing the payment cycle, job costing for multiple locations, reconciling assigned accounts, and assisting with month-end close processes. The position is fully in office, Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
• Enter and verify the accuracy of invoices, accounting documents, and records to ensure correct processing
• Manage job costing for multiple locations, providing accurate and timely cost information
• Handle the day-to-day management of the payment cycle
• Create and record journal entries, contributing to the overall accuracy of financial records
• Reconcile assigned accounts to maintain financial integrity
• Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
• Support reporting processes as necessary
• Ensure payable deadlines are met through effective organization and adherence to company processes
Requirements
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with SAP software
• Ability to prepare and maintain journal entries
• Experience in performing Month End Close processes
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of general accounting principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
