Digi-Key Electronics Talent Acquisition Intern in Thief River Falls, Minnesota

To learn more, visit our benefits and perks page. __ Position Overview:As a Talent Acquisition Intern, you will participate in all aspects of DigiKey Talent Acquisition, learning about best TA practices and developing an understanding of each stage in the selection processes for entry through supervisor positions. You will work alongside TA Specialists on both high-volume and complex requisitions and will have the opportunity to complete a capstone project which you'll work on throughout the internship. You will leave with a solid understanding of recruiting best practices. You will see the legal side of recruiting and hiring and take real-world experience with you that you can refer to, no matter what type of HR role you move into after graduation. This is a hybrid role: Attendance on site is required at least 2 days per week. The location is either Thief River Falls, MN or Bloomington, MN, with some travel between sites required. Housing: Local campus housing (private room, private bath and shared living space) is provided for interns selecting Thief River Falls as their internship home base. We are unable to provide housing for Bloomington-based internships. Responsibilities: Post positions on job boards, review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates, and build talent pipelines Coordinate and attend recruiting events Participate in planning for fall 2025 campus recruiting Shadow Intake meetings, phone screens, and interview recap meetings Shadow background check reviews, learn about the adjudication matrix and pre-hire screening process Employer Branding: Assist in promoting the company's employer brand through social media, job postings, and career events; help create content to showcase DigiKey's unique culture HR Information Systems: Support preparation of recruiting reports and analyze data using Excel to understand recruiting effectiveness; maintain and update candidate databases and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to ensure candidate records are accurate and up to date On the job practice with typical TA tools: Workday ATS, E-Verify, Handshake, Dice, Nace, Indeed and LinkedIn Capstone Project: Working closely with your mentor and TA Manager, identify an area of interest within Talent Acquisition where you can complete a comprehensive project which will stay with DigiKey after you leave. Based on candidate interests and DigiKey needs, potential capstone project could be, for example: Strategy: Develop a recruiting strategy targeting a specific area (for example, strategies for recruitment marketing, social media, video interviewing, diversity hiring, sourcing, events, etc.) Social Media: Collaborate with Marketing team to develop social content for recruiting Events: Plan, coordinate and facilitate an on-site or off-site recruiting event Affirmative Action: Implement a partnership with a local organization to support hiring Process Improvement: Review and make recommendations around interview guides, candidate experience or onboarding HR Technologies: Leverage Workday Community to find and recommend new tools for recruiting Trends in Talent Acquisition: Research and recommend AI or other best practices for recruiting Required knowledge, skills and abilities A current student or recent graduate with education in Human Resources, Psychology or Communications and a strong interest in how people (hiring, retaining, performance management and development) impact a large, global business Excellent written and verbal communications skills including average to above-average computer ability Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Willing ess to take the initiative, working independently and collaboratively Positive, customer-first approach is critically important in this role Tools, Systems, and Software: Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPo Workday, HRIS (preferred, not required) Physical Requirements: Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body .
