POSITION SUMMARY
Under supervision and direction from Painter II or Lead, the individual will prep, sandblast, and apply protective and/or decorative paint finishes to a variety of products according to specifications. This includes formulating, testing, mixing, and applying liquid coatings to ensure product quality.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Adhere to all workplace safety and product quality policies and guidelines.
Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning contaminants, and taping areas not to be painted.
Read and understand paint specifications and product data sheets from various manufacturers.
Select and properly mix paint for each project based on specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring paint equipment and tools are in good working condition.
Contribute to overall division results and performance.
Address and meet internal and external customer needs and expectations.
FORMAL EDUCATION
- Required : High School Diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Required :
Familiarity with conventional and manufacturing-specific painting techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, charts, and schematics.
Dependable and able to work effectively under pressure, often independently.
Ability to pass a yearly pulmonary function test.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred :
Experience in a manufacturing "job shop" environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Frequent walking, writing, and typing.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to climb and descend stairs.
Capable of bending, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling on an occasional basis.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Work may be indoors or outdoors with exposure to heat (up to 120°F) and cold (down to 0°F).
May work in noisy environments requiring hearing protection.
Exposure to dust and dirt; work surfaces may include concrete.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
Salary range:
$34,000.00 - $54,500.00
