Summary About the Position: The Electronics Technician position is located at DIR/PRODUCTION ENGINEERING SATCOM & SITE INSTALLATION DIV Tobyhanna PA. This vacancy is for a GS-7 Full Performance Level GS-9 position. Selection will be made at the 7,8 or 9 grade level Responsibilities Performs analysis/diagnosis and final alignment to any of several electronic, multi-integrated system complexes. Calibrates and otherwise interfaces and integrates all subsystems and equipment into a functional system;. Analyzes indications obtained during operation and /or testing, correlates them to available technical data on individual equipment and/or subsystem. Performs repair, or refers defective equipment. Performs total system validation/verification after repair, assembly and /or installation while on temporary duty or at home station. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-07 Grade Level Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing trouble shooting and testing duties of electronic, satellite/antenna systems and equipment with minimal supervision or direction; 2) Conducting basic repair of mechanical systems; AND 3) Participating in training of SATCOM personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR-Applicant must have completed one and a half (1.5) full years of graduate level education directly related to the work of an Electronics Technician (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.) OR-Applicants must have a combination of appropriate specialized experience and education, as described above. GS-08 Grade Level Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing complex trouble shooting and testing duties of electronic, satellite/antenna systems and equipment with minimal supervision or direction; AND 2) Conducting repair and overhaul of mechanical systems; AND 3) Assisting other higher grade technicians in training of SATCOM personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Applicant must have completed two (2) full years of graduate level education directly related to the work of an Electronics Technician (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). OR Applicants must have a combination of appropriate specialized experience and education, as described above GS-09 Grade Level Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing basic trouble shooting and testing duties of electronic, satellite/antenna systems and equipment; 2) Conducting repair and overhaul of mechanical systems and large SATCOM Antenna Dishes; AND 3) Assisting other technicians with the development and documentation of test procedures. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as: electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology. Applicants must have a combination of appropriate specialized experience and education, as described above This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
