Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project manager to join our team and ensure the smooth functioning of our data centre's physical and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience as a Cable Project Manager, responsible for overseeing the installation and management of cabling infrastructure projects. They will be skilled in coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Additionally, they will have a deep understanding of cable design and implementation, conducting site surveys, and resolving any technical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall project coordination with internal technology teams, external contractors, and Data Center service providers to deliver projects.

  • Design, Analysis and Requirement Gathering

o Work with Data Center service providers to understand whitespace constraints (power / coolings) and come up with the white space layouts

o Prepare the complete equipment restack plan/phasing plan co-ordinatiing with internal technology teams as well as the DC vendor

o Gather hardware BOM (model, delivery dates, etc.) from different technology teams

o Calculate/design the required rack count, power consumption, cooling, network panels, cables, etc, and work with other Data Center teams on design and construction

o Work with Sourcing, Real Estate, Legal and Finance teams on RFP’s, and provide adequate support for any DC contract amendment/renewals discussions when applicable

  • Implementation and Deployment

o Monitor Data Center service providers’ progress. Prepare project defect lists and follow-up accordingly

o Travel to sites to review construction progress. Work with service providers engineers to provide progress feedback to the Morgan Stanley Technical SME’s

o Centralize all installation requests for different technology teams, and raise Change Management request. When required, assist in physical racking and stacking of technology equipment (e.g. power and network cable connections, iLO configuration)

o Coordinate with all technology teams on equipment restack plan

o Work closely with different third party vendors for equipment delivery

o Coordinate and escort Telco carrier vendors for circuit installations, and witness testing.

o Coordinate and supervise patching of network cables, and witness testing

o Centralize and raise all equipment decommission and disposals requests. Follow appropriate guideline carefully, and work with disposal teams/vendors on equipment disposal, disk degaussing/shredding and document detailed records

Documentation

o Update equipment inventory management system and rack elevations.

o Provide regular reporting on project status and meeting minutes to regional EDC team

o Obtain and collect all data necessary for management/operation report, including capacity management, financial budget forecasts, project spends, vendor coordination, patching, and project sharepoint sites

Requirements:

· Language:Bi-lingual and be able to read/write/speak in English and Japanese

· Experience/Knowledge:

  • Min 5-7 years working experience in Data Center industry’s mission critical system

  • Good understanding of data center infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes, etc).CDCP is a plus

  • Good understanding of technology hardware installation procedure

  • Network cable patchings and testing technique

  • Solid experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project

  • Project Management certification is a plus, such as PMP

  • Experience in buildouts, testing and commissioning, handover, close out on

  • Data Center projects

  • Basic knowledge of International as well as local building regulations including

  • Life Safety

  • Able to work proactively with good communication,analytical, problem

  • solving, and negotiationskills, in order to work with different teams across

  • different countries

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and understandable manner

  • Ability to organize and plan multiple projects with different end-users

  • simultaneously

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and under

  • pressure
