The opportunity

Are you a passionate game engineer looking to make a strong impact in the game development industry? Unity Technologies Japan's Strategic Partner Support team seeks a Developer Support Engineer who is enthusiastic about technical communication and problem-solving with our VIP customers. As a crucial member of Unity's global Customer Success Everywhere organization, you will address the toughest challenges faced by game developers and help them achieve their success goals.

In this role, you will directly engage with developers to help them deepen their understanding and trust in Unity. You will also provide valuable customer feedback to drive innovation and improve our products and services. Your work will act as a vital link between our game development partners and Unity's internal teams, ensuring that we consistently surpass expectations and push the boundaries of what's possible in gaming

What you'll be doing

  • Solving Hard Problems: Respond to customer inquiries to help address their technical issues.

  • Creating Resources: Prepare essential technical documentation and reports for internal and external use.

  • Building Knowledge: Share insights gained from support activities within Unity to help improve our product offerings.

  • Emergency Support: Step up to provide urgent support when requested, acting as a crucial liaison between the customer, support team, and various Unity departments to ensure quick resolutions.

What we're looking for

  • Game Production Pro: Deep knowledge and extensive experience in video game production, with hands-on development experience using Unity and console platforms (i.e., Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, etc.)

  • Effective Communicator: Strong internal and external business communication skills, particularly in B2B customer relations and technical support.

  • Social Savvy: Excellent communication skills in Japanese, with a talent for ensuring well-mannered and flexible customer interactions.

  • Japanese/English Master: Fluency in Japanese and English, enabling effective and nuanced communication with diverse clients, colleagues, and stakeholders in a multicultural environment.

  • Hybrid Ready: When you prefer working from home, you must have a secure, confidential workspace and reliable voice communication setup.

You might also have

  • Leadership Potential: Experience as a leader or an associate leader in a console game development team.

  • Adaptable and Flexible: Willingness to adjust work hours to collaborate with overseas teams and customers, with the readiness to travel domestically or internationally on short notice.
