Fortive Corporation Product Marketing Manager in Tokyo, Japan

Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including budget planning for mid-term and short-term, monthly demand projection based on the sales data analysis. The Product Marketing Manager works closely with Sales, channel partners, and product development and Marketing in other regions to achieve revenue goals and improve customer experience with Fluke. This Role is global in nature and will work with away teams in North-East Asia (NEA), APAC, and Australia.

Primary Function/Major Responsibilities:

1. Go To Market Strategy

The Product Marketing Manager has an in-depth knowledge of target markets and how to introduce the product into each market.

  • Developbusiness requirements, product GTM process, plan timelines, launch scenarios with demand projection, pricing and promotion plans

  • Serve as a key influencer in devising and auditing business strategy; be fluent in speaking to and analyzing business status, demand drivers,and competitive landscape, including forecasting, progress checking, and reporting to stakeholders; Business units, APAC, North East Asia (NEA) and Japan

  • Deliver Market Requirements (MRD) and Product Requirements (PRD) with prioritized features and corresponding justification with data

  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape

  • Identify opportunities for increasing customer and business value through the marketing mix.

2. Marketing Program development

The Product Marketing Manager outlines the product positioning that articulates valued customers, value proposition, and value networks, which links each feature to a customer-centric benefit.

  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance metrics, KPIs and ROI

  • Define, report on, and optimize key metrics and KPIs and present to senior business leaders and key stakeholders

  • Manage inventory, pricing, customer communications, and revenue forecasts

  • Updates and presents forecasts regularly (monthly and ad hoc) to management and manufacturing teams

  • Manage marketing plan scope, budget, and schedule to complete project deliverables

3. Supporting sales engineers and channel partners

The Product Marketing Manager provides Sales and customers with convincing brand and product stories to generate market push.

  • Help with all technical issues raised by Sales, channel partners, and end-users

  • Providechannel partners with sales tools (product training, product presentation,best practices case study, and demonstration) to generate market push

  • Identify risks to new product lines or sales channels and develops relevant improvement plans (Kaizen) based on Fortive Business System (FBS)

  • Manage seminars, tradeshows, company-sponsored events & promotions

  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and resolving conflict within teams

Qualifications - External

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, B2B product marketing and/or high-technology consumer companies/products

  • Experience working with cross-functional marketing, sales, and tech team

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools for process optimization and reporting

  • Knowledge of products, Test & Measurement applications, and Calibration knowledge is preferred

  • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

  • Able to travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally

Educational background and skill set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field and marketing preferred

  • Strong influencer with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills in both Japanese and English (native level Japanese and business level English (TOEIC: 730 or above))

  • Comfortable with advanced Excel and capable of manipulating data to perform analysis
