The Role
Proofpoint is looking for a Support Engineer in our Japan office. This is a key role that will play a vital part to our company success as we continue to grow.

Your day to day
Support customers
Support level 1 to 3
Handle inquiries via emails, the support portal or via phone
Work the following hours for this role are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST (Need the ability to work from home when necessary)
Assist Japan SE with presale questions
What you bring
At least 3 years of experience in the IT world: Performing support tasks, Working in IT, Working as system administrator
Working knowledge of Microsoft-based operating systems (Windows XP to present, Windows Server 2003 to present) – installation, troubleshooting, configuration, administration, installing and maintaining software and applications
Working knowledge of all current versions of Microsoft IIS – installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting
Working knowledge of SQL Server (2012, 2016, 2019) – SQL Admin tasks, running queries
Working knowledge of Active Directory
Working knowledge of Networking - TCP\IP, subnetting, firewall administration, routing, troubleshooting
Working knowledge in Internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, etc.)
Working knowledge of remote software installations and automation
Working knowledge in storage systems
Experience and ability to troubleshoot IT-related issues
Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems – advantage
Working knowledge of Mac operating systems – advantage
Knowledge in writing scripts and PowerShell – advantage
Good verbal and writing skills
Knowledge in writing official documentation/solutions - advantage
Microsoft certified (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP) – advantage
