We are seeking a creative, data-driven, and results-oriented Brand and Social Marketing Manager to lead the strategic development and deployment of best-in-class marketing programs that engage readers and drive the long term growth of the Japan Books business.
The successful candidate has a deep understanding of books culture in Japan and will bridge their passion for brand building while engaging customers across social platforms. You will lead the development of brand building programs and develop an engaged community of evangelists across Amazon Books and Kindle’s rapidly growing customer base. The right person is a cross-functional, creative, and results-driven marketer who is passionate about building social communities and can execute high-visibility campaigns efficiently. You will hold a high bar for execution and measurement.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to identify unmet opportunities then develop solutions, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Cross-team coordination, project management, executive communication, presentation and negotiation skills are required. This role is critical in executing strategic initiatives, providing exceptional customer experiences via above the line and social channels, and driving functional excellence and process improvement. Candidates must be successful both as individual contributors and in a team setting. You will lead the deployment of new programs, and work with key agency partners to bring those programs to the marketplace. You have first-class written and verbal communication skills, and are comfortable negotiating with key business partners and global Amazon teams to gain alignment on marketing plans and ultimately manage all aspects of project execution.
Key job responsibilities
Develop brand and social strategy for Amazon Books and Kindle in Japan that helps drive business growth
Build brand awareness, salience and affinity to fuel customer growth and engagement.
Drive 360-degree branding campaigns across channels like TV, out-of-home, print, digital and social media.
Responsible for end-to-end execution of campaigns from agency briefs to creative development, media planning, campaign execution and measurement.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams and external partners (marketing agencies) to deliver results.
Drive brand consistency across marketing assets
Bring big ideas to the table, obtain buy-in and effectively and efficiently implement ideas at scale
Own branding budgets – track, forecast and drive efficiency
Provide strategic marketing inputs into product roadmaps
Define and deliver measurement and analytics for key metrics to understand program effectiveness, working closely with the Business Intelligence team

Basic Qualifications
6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages
Preferred Qualifications
Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint
