*General Summary: *Performs custodial and/or maintenance repair duties:

 

  1. Cleans offices, lobbies, repairing furniture and equipment, mops, sweeps, buffs/waxes floors, scrubs sink, toilets, countertops, walls/ceilings, washes windows, polishes mirrors and glass, vacuums, and shampoos carpet, replenishes soap, paper towels and toilet paper. 
  2. Performs minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc. 
  3. Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
  4. Installs appliances and equipment.
  5. Conducts maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, snow and ice removal, removes litter from grounds, doors and/windows, moves furniture, and/or stocks supplies. 
  6. Inspects and makes minor repairs to equipment, furniture and/or agency facilities.
  7. Inspects and troubleshoots equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation).
  8. Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarms, etc.). 
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduation from high school with a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Tests equivalency coupled with at least one (1) year related experience. possession of a valid vehicle operator's license (Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier.  Those who drive personal vehicles during business must be able to provide proof of insurance.)

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  1. Ability to safely operate a personal motor vehicle on a weekly basis and comply with the Agency's vehicle safety program.
  2. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking or crouching on narrow, slippery or moving surfaces.
  3. Stooping: Bending the body forward and down from the waist, hips, and knees, sometimes for a prolonged length of time.
  4. Lifting:  Raising an object from a lower to a higher position or moving an object laterally, from position to position. Required to lift up to 50lbs of force independently. 
  5. Pushing:  Applying pressure and exerting force against an object for the purpose of moving it forward or way from the source of the force -- push or pull force up to 35lbs.     
  6. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction away from the body.
  7. Standing: Maintaining an upright position on the feet, especially for prolonged periods of time.
