ProMedica Health System Dietetic Technician/Nutrition Associate - Food Clinic - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio

The Dietetic Tech assists with day to day operations for the ProMedica Food Clinic. Position requires frequent contact with patients, physicians, nurses, care navigators, dietitians, volunteers, and vendors.

  1. Assists in organizing the food clinic for optimal workflow and efficiency.
  2. Maintain temperature logs on cooler, freezer and other equipment in the food clinic and ensure safe food handling procedures are in place and followed at all times.
  3. Collaborate appropriately with dietitian and physicians to ensure proper foods are ordered and available in the clinic to support prescriptions for healthy diets.
  4. Help put together patient food prescription packages based on patient health and food preferences.
  5. Assist with data entry into electronic health records to accurately input data on clinic usage and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  6. Assist in coordinating food drives with local community partners and ProMedica employees as appropriate.
  7. Assist with development of healthy recipes and handouts for patients.
  8. Help manage food clinic volunteers
  9. Work closely with leadership of Ebeid Institute and Social Determinants of Health to ensure coordination, as appropriate, of services and programs for clients
  10. Performs other duties as directed. Education: High school diploma or GED

Skills: Basic comfort level with computers. Must be able to use computer applications to input and retrieve data.

Years of Experience: Previous food industry/ food safety experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills: Knowledge of inventory controls including ordering and management

Years of Experience: 2+ years previous food industry/food safety experience

Certification: Certified as a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR)

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

Must be able to travel between ProMedica locations. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands: Must be able to move about facility. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 30 lbs., 20% of the time
