Kelly Services Mechanical Design Engineer in Tolleson, Arizona

THE ROLE : Design Engineer

LOCATION: Tolleson, AZ

REPORTS TO: Director, Manufacturing Operations and Engineering

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Exempt

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

Join our engineering team at our brand-new facility in Tolleson! Our new facility will enable us to continue to grow our business. As an experienced design engineer, you will create plans, details, and fabrication drawings for small to medium scale access ladders and platforms.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes AutoCAD to perform applicable drafting/detailing projects. Works from specifications and product requirements.

  • Makes required calculations to establish acceptable standards of performance material selection and construction type within engineered parameters.

  • Creates high level designs of access ladders and platforms with economical use of materials and ease of fabrication and installation.

  • Executes revisions and maintains proper documentation for revision levels, files, and notes.

  • Drives cost savings through continuous improvement throughout the department, affecting processes and standards.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in structural, civil, architectural, mechanical engineering, or related field of study.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a design engineer preferably in the material handling industry.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, 3D modeling software (Inventor), and Microsoft software.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management techniques.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as basic algebraic equations and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
