Bermuda Hospital Clinical Informatics Specialist in Tomah, Wisconsin
POSITION DETAILS
Full-time, benefited; 80 hours per two week pay period, M-F day hours; potential for weekend/holiday work based on project needs along with on-call if needed; Epic experience a plus. Potential to work hybrid schedule of on-site and remote after satisfactorily completing orientation and must be able to work in house at any time based on department needs.
JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) is responsible for participating in the planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of assigned Clinical Information Systems across the facility. The CIS is responsible for facilitating communication to/from the clinical end users across the patient care departments while working collaboratively and directly with staff, department managers, medical providers, vendors and technical experts. The CIS has skilled knowledge of clinical disciplines and clinical information systems as well as a significant understanding of other IT disciplines and utilizes this knowledge to optimize the clinical design to meet the house wide needs of the organization. The CIS incorporates the organization’s strategic objectives in the management and evaluation of the hospital’s clinical information system and will be a liaison between a wide variety of users within our facility and outside of our organization. MAJOR JOB FUNCTION • Integrate, facilitate, build, contribute and manage resources to achieve strategic goals, short term and long term, via the utilization/management of clinical information systems and I/T resources. • Provide consultative services organizational wide regarding workflow processes, technological solutions and educational programs to adopt, support, promote utilization and the further development of the clinical information system. Routinely shadows departments for staff input, provides direction to staff related to the clinical information system, and is a liaison between department identified super users. Performs monthly clinical information system training session for various departments. • Demonstrate understanding of clinical protocols, data collection and analysis, hardware, clinical documentation and management of applications. Resource for policies and procedures review for departmental impact. • Promotes and contributes to a positive, problem-solving environment. • Prepares and reviews system, operational and department documentation as needed. Prepares staff for enhancements/upgrades to the information system hospital wide as needed. • Maintains clinical competency as related to projects. • Research, troubleshoot and resolve user I/T software and hardware issues to cover department operations. • Provides on-call departmental coverage and/or scheduled days as assigned including evenings, nights, weekends to support IT operations. • Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Clinical degree required: RN, LPN, MLT; Bachelor’s degree and/or Clinical Informatics degree preferred. •Prior Epic application experience and/or training required or similar. Epic certification a plus or willing to obtain. • Information Technology training a plus. SKILLS • Possess the following skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS • The Information Systems Clinical Application Specialist is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms and is also required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. • The Information Systems Clinical Application Specialist must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
