Linde Inc Senior Manager, Sales & Use Tax in TONAWANDA, New York

Linde has an immediate need for a talented Tax Manager to join our dynamic Tax team in Tonawanda NY. We work together with Treasury, Corporate Accounting and other Linde business groups. We are dedicated to minimizing time spent processing tax filings and enhancing the professional growth of our team members. Primary Responsibilities: - Motivate, manage, coach and develop a staff of four - Handle all aspects of compliance, including managing the outsourcer, following up on notices and initiating payments. - Work with operations to minimize tax on plants - Answer taxability questions on transactions for the business - Review monthly use tax purchase reports for accuracy - Lead implementations of process improvements and best practices - Responsible for maintenance of Vertex Tax Decision Maker - Conduct research on tax issues - Provide guidance on tax implications of projects to business personnel - Compliance for other indirect taxes as needed Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MST degree or courses a plus - 7-10 years' of Sales Tax experience in either a large industry or Big 4 Public Accounting with a Manufacturing or retail background - Experience using Vertex or other sales tax software is necessary - Prior experience managing a team preferred - Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements utilizing innovative solutions - Ability to work cross functionally in a matrix organization - Ability to drive value and minimize tax within the sales tax function - Strong project management skills - Strong desire to work in a progressive tax department where meeting the compliance deadlines are considered the minimum requirements for the position.
