Shire Lead HRBP - Canada in Toronto, Canada
In partnership with the Canada business and as part of the international Commercial HR team, define, drive and deliver most appropriate HR strategy, programs and services, in order to support business objectives, build the necessary capabilities and develop our talent and culture.
Acts as the HR Business Partner for Canada commercial business and HR Expert to multiple functions in Canada. Works as a member of the Canadian leadership team to ensure delivery of business objectives and HR strategy Provide coaching and counsel to Country Senior Management teams of designated business units in all areas of HR. Responsible for diagnosing business needs for assigned business and working within the HR model to create and implement solutions. Facilitate Talent Management programs & practices – supporting leaders in building a strong relationship pipeline. Facilitates organizational change, advising on department structures, job descriptions, systems, processes, manpower/succession plans which align to overall corporate objectives. Enable leaders to lead through times of ambiguity & execute change Represent the interests of designated business groups to the International & Global HR platforms. HR Projects may include:
As assigned lead, develop, assist and implement Global HR initiatives.
Partner with international, regional, global HR to plan and implement projects and programs as assigned.
Works with functional lead HR Business Partners to progress caseload of HR projects/issues, working to agreed action plans.
Successfully work as part of the HR model, in full partnership with CoEs and, responsible for providing a comprehensive HR service and delivery of local HR strategy;
Organization effectiveness and development by providing talent acquisition and development partnership. Identifies development and learning needs for designated business groups and works with Talent Development to implement solutions.
End to end processing of performance management
Termination of employment (leavers) including resignations, compromise agreements, redundancy, dismissals
Manages employee relations issues across business functions in multiple geographies.
Occupational Health issues, including counseling of staff, developing and implementing policy and procedures, pre and post-employment health screening, advising managers on employee health, employee welfare etc.
Coaches and advises management team on Total Reward related matters.Experience & Qualifications:
University degree required – preferably in social sciences, business or legal basis.
MBA or post graduate qualification preferred
10 years relevant experience as an HR business partner and generalist in fast moving industries and working environments.
At least 7 out of the 10 years of relevant working experience with different HR Operating models and knowledge of how to best operate in these different models
Solid experience of employment environment, employment law as well as good lid working knowledge of local legislation and cultural practice.
Fluent in HR Systems and Technology overall
Ability to speak English fluently and French knowledge is an assetCompetencies
