Catering Supervisor
Position Overview: The Catering Supervisor will work closely with the Hospitality Manager to oversee the daily operations of the catering team. While the Hospitality Manager focuses on leadership, service assignment, administrative tasks and planning, the Catering Supervisor will manage the service floor, ensuring smooth execution of events, supervising the catering assistants, ensuring quality checks and providing on-site support. This role is key to maintaining high standards of service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction during catering events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Supervision: Oversee the execution of catering events, ensuring that all setups, food service, and client expectations are met. Provide guidance and support to the catering assistants during events.
Team Management: Supervise the catering assistants during shifts, providing direction and support to ensure efficient operation. Address any on-the-spot issues and maintain high standards of service delivery.
Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during events, ensuring that their needs are met promptly and professionally. Resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the event.
Quality Control: Conduct checks on event setups, food presentation, and service to ensure that the catering operation runs smoothly and that the team adheres to the company’s standards.
Training & Development: Assist in the training of new catering assistants, providing hands-on guidance and helping them to develop the skills needed for success in the role.
Inventory & Supplies: Ensure that all necessary catering materials, equipment, and supplies are available and in good condition. Assist in the ordering and replenishment of items as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Hospitality Manager to understand event requirements, timelines, and special client requests. Provide feedback and assist with event logistics to ensure smooth execution.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that health and safety standards, including food safety and sanitation, are followed at all times.
Complete Setups and Breakdowns : Assist where needed in the set up and breakdown of food and beverage service, including linens, serving stations, and decorations for meetings and events
Qualifications:
Previous experience in catering or hospitality, with a focus on event coordination or service management.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues quickly.
Attention to detail and the ability to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment, food items, and other materials related to catering events.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout event spaces for extended periods.
