What you’ll be doing

The Director, Enterprise Communications, is responsible for strategic communications planning, execution and measurement to support key enterprise communications initiatives focused on event management, brand and client experience communications. This role provides strategic communications advice and support, developing and implementing corporate communication strategies aligned to CIBC’s business strategy.

How you’ll succeed

  • Build and execute on communication strategies in support of key enterprise communications to employees.

  • Work closely with key partners and stakeholders across the bank to develop and execute communication strategies and plans, and various leader and team events (virtual and in-person) that foster a solid understanding of the bank’s purpose and strategic direction.

  • Identify and implement best practices for CIBC’s Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) team to deliver high-quality and impactful enterprise events for employees. Liaison between senior leaders, event stakeholders and vendors to ensure alignment and execution.

  • Demonstrate expertise in creating compelling and engaging presentations for various audiences and channels, using a variety of tools and techniques.

  • Provide guidance to C&PA on presentation best practices and standards.

  • Apply your expertise in brand and client experience to create and deliver compelling and relevant internal communications.

  • Leverage various communication channels and platforms to reach and engage employee audiences across the bank.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the C&PA team and with key partners.

  • Establish and build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders across the bank, including senior leaders.

  • Lead and manage a team of internal communications professionals through coaching, mentoring and guidance to deliver high-quality communications that reinforce the bank’s strategy and purpose.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal communications processes, tools and channels.

  • Monitor and measure the impact of internal communications activities and provide recommendations for improvement.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate progressive experience in the field of internal communications, including principles, practices and processes.

  • Well-developed knowledge of communications principles, along with communications writing and presentation development skills.

  • You can demonstrate experience/skills in project management.

  • Well-developed problem identification and communication principles to develop and implement effective communication strategies.

  • Well-developed ability to develop creative solutions that address difficult or complex issues and to provide sound advice and guidance to senior level executives.

  • Well-developed ability to function as a key consultant to senior management and division heads, using in-depth advisory and consultative skills to work collaboratively with business leaders in the delivery of consistent, aligned communications strategies.

  • You have a degree in Business/Journalism/Communications or equivalent or relevant area or specialty.

  • Senior-level experience in employee communications and change management.
