AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Key job responsibilities

  • Work with our GenAI Go-to-market and Solutions Architect teams to understand the key GenAI solutions and help craft technical field enablement plans for them.

  • Craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical enablement artifacts for targeted GenAI use cases

  • Partner with our Machine Learning technical field community leadership team to align on technical enablement activities

  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS's generative AI capabilities, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud

  • Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers, presentations, demos, and reference architectures

  • Capture customer and field feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as you work backwards from their needs.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the customer and a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and partners

About the team

The Generative AI and Machine Learning (GenAI/ML) team guides AWS customers on building enterprise-grade GenAI systems. This role will support development of an architectural blueprint that our customers can use to build their own enterprise-wide Generative AI platforms, which will help them balance democratization of access to GenAI and speed of innovation with following best practices around trustworthy AI, cost efficiency, security, etc. This role specifically will be responsible for development of architectural guidance and implementation best practices around Security and Compliance of GenAI systems. The role with partner with others on the team to develop comprehensive and authoritative portfolio-wide guidance for AWS GenAI customers. The deliverables include: contributions to the joint architectural blueprint / whitepaper, thought leadership in the form of public writing and speaking, as well as internal enablement. The role has a global remit.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years solutions architecture or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years experience within software development, cloud computing, networking, or data and analytics)

  • 7+ years of decision-maker engagement

  • 5+ years experience in technical thought leadership within infrastructure or cloud-computing industries

Preferred Qualifications

  • College/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong ability to lead large organization or multi-country initiatives while driving clarity and delivering outcomes with complete independence

  • Proven ability to deliver significantly complex solutions that evolve to improve and support changing business goals

  • Ability to grow a culture of collaboration and inclusion by educating others, influencing strategic direction, and actively developing the AWS SA community

  • Experience in effectively communicating with a diverse audience through different communication forums (narrative documents, speaking events, executive leadership meetings)
