POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Director for The Globe and Mail Leadership Institute is responsible for spearheading the strategy, planning, execution, and management of innovative educational programs aimed at enhancing the leadership skills and professional development of individuals across various industries. This new business is in a 'start-up' like environment that requires a dynamic entrepreneurial individual with a strong background in professional education specifically program management, curriculum design, and stakeholder engagement. The Program Director will collaborate with industry experts, partners, journalists and course participants to deliver high-quality learning experiences that delivers on the business objectives of The Globe and Mail Leadership Institute.

The Program Director for The Globe and Mail Leadership Institute plays a critical role in driving the success and impact of the institute's educational programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead the development and delivery of cutting-edge learning experiences that empower professionals to thrive in today's rapidly evolving business landscape. This is a 12 month contract position.

REPONSIBILITIES

Business Management and Execution:

  • Review, update and execute The Globe and Mail’s Leadership Institute's vision, mission, and overall strategic plan.

  • Manage all aspects of program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and participant enrollment.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless program delivery and execution.

  • Oversee the selection and onboarding of instructors, facilitators, and guest speakers, ensuring alignment with program goals and participant needs.

  • Monitor program progress and performance, proactively addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.

  • Develop and execute go to market strategy to achieve business objectives and targets.

  • Manage budget and financial resources

Program Development and Design:

  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and refinement of professional development programs tailored to the needs of diverse industries and target audiences.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, industry leaders, and internal stakeholders to identify key competencies, learning objectives, and content requirements.

  • Work with partners to design engaging and interactive curriculum content, incorporating a variety of instructional methodologies, technologies, and learning resources.

  • Develop effective go to market and pricing strategies to achieve business objectives

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business community, partners, and key stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences and align program offerings accordingly.

  • Oversee customer service of program participants with support, guidance, and assistance throughout their learning journey.

  • Working with internal marketing partners and manage sales to promote program offerings, generate leads, and drive enrollment and revenue growth. This includes website build/changes, managing external marketing relationships, and the development social media assets

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and implement evaluation mechanisms to assess program effectiveness, participant satisfaction, and learning outcomes.

  • Analyze feedback, performance metrics, and market trends to identify areas for program enhancement and refinement.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to iterate on program offerings, incorporating feedback and best practices to continuously improve program quality and relevance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in executive education or professional development in program development and management capacity or business development.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver results within budget and timeline constraints.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and emerging trends in professional development and executive education.

  • Experience in the marketing and sales of open enrolment course offerings with an emphasis on digital marketing strategies and tactics

  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), virtual learning platforms, and digital tools for program delivery and management.
