Canadian Tire Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting Operations in Toronto, Ontario
What you’ll do
Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis
Prepare and review significant analyses, entries, and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting process for enterprise inventory, shrink, freight costs, vendor funds and obsolescence provisions
Launch investigations, analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends and present findings to managers and senior management
Analyze and implement the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls
Identify and execute improvements to complex models and processes
Effectively manage communications and relationships with business partners, accounting, and internal and external auditors
Run multiple tasks simultaneously and independently with minimal supervision
Execute and maintain documentation of controls
Coach and aid in the development of team members
What you bring
University degree in Accounting or Finance areas
CPA designation
Minimum 4 years experience in a medium/large company at a Senior Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge working with complex accounting models
Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment and natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Detail oriented with strong diagnostic, analytical and data management skills
Proven ability to successfully lead other team members
Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements
Highly driven with an exceptionally strong work ethic, time management and organization skills
Strong proficiency of Microsoft suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with internal and external audit processes
Working knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft accounting system and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset
