Intuit Senior HR Specialist (18 Month) in Toronto, Ontario
Overview
The People Experience Team, which is part of our People & Places (HR) organization, exists to shape experiences that maximize the potential of our people. The People Experience team consists of four pillars: Experience Solutions (digital HR experiences), HR Connect (General and expert-level human-assisted support), Employee Relations, and Ethics & Investigations. We also have a Programs and Operations team that drives excellence and efficiency across the People experience portfolio of programs and operations.
The HR Specialist team is part of the larger HR Connect pillar whose primary focus is to empower employee success through general and expert level human assisted support for employee questions, supporting workers in difficult situations (i.e., employee loss, natural disasters, etc.), and partnering with centers of excellence (COEs) and key partners to make improvements and design & launch programs and experiences. They are an escalation point and provide support and coaching across the HR Connect team (e.g., channel team) as needed, in addition to driving or contributing to team initiatives and People & Places (P&) priorities.
This role will report to the HR Connect Specialist Manager.
What you'll bring
5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a customer-facing role
Thorough understanding of Canadian Employment Law, with a strong focus on Provincial and Federal Leaves of Absence
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact, influence and communicate verbally and in writing effectively with senior leaders, members of management, and employees at all levels of the company
The ability to see situations from all perspectives and work through sensitive employee situations with discretion for the best possible outcomes for everyone involved
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Adaptive critical thinking, judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with HR software and systems

How you will lead
Partner closely with COE’s and key partners on the end-to-end design and launch of new and improved employee experiences across People & Places programs with frequent consultation with the team manager and senior members of the HRC Specialist team for support
Leverages key data and insights to identify and influence opportunities for improvement in employee experiences prioritized in the appropriate governing body
Act as an escalation point and coach to channel advisors
Provides best in class guidance and support to employees and managers on cases that require subject matter expertise beyond what our channel support team can provide
Creates or contributes to the development of communications, FAQs, and protocols
Develops, owns, and maintains mostly defined internal HR Connect processes/protocols (e.g., natural disaster, employee loss process, hardship, )
Triage cases internally within HR Connect team and to COE’s as appropriate and as assigned
Establishes cross functional relationships to serve as a trusted advisor and collaborator to key
Leverages relevant playbooks, protocols, and requirements for case management and contributes to ongoing improvements
