Contributes to the overall success of the Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending Department in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Senior Manager of Co-Brand Credit Cards is responsible for the following core areas:
Ownership of product-line P&L for the Co-Brand Credit Card portfolios
Overall P&L responsibility, managing product features and working with marketing and acquisition teams on optimal offers, budgets and campaigns.
Manage the day to day relationship with Co-Brand partners to ensure ongoing collaboration
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Management and on-going review and development of the Credit Cards product line strategy.
Develop and successfully implement a multi-year business strategy that contributes to future objectives of the overall business
Develop and own the annual business plan; identify and successfully implement initiatives and tactics ensuring achievement of plan; provide ongoing monitoring and projections on performance relative to plan and year over year
Lead the development and implementation of new products and policies, product enhancements and features, to acquire and retain profitable customers and meet customer needs
Develop business cases to support recommendations, lead and implement projects designed to achieve business objectives and enhance processes
Support and lead key cross business line initiatives, representing the Credit Cards business line
Leverage and/or develop end to end process for product review/development, implementation, use, reporting and feedback on products – collaborating with other groups, distribution channels, specialist areas and others as necessary
Identify, own and manage to key business drivers
Accountable for Co-Brand Product financial results through strategic management and ongoing analysis of trends and the competitive landscape
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Implement and execute day business controls to meet obligations with respect to risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.
Disseminate key requirements and best practices for presenting and selling credit at point of sale and other opportunities in partner channels.
Ensure partner channel implementation, monitoring and compliance of regulatory sales requirements
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles , while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. (Business Administration and/or Commerce preferred)
5+ years of work experience in Product Management (Credit Cards preferred), and experience with strategic planning, business planning, partner management and/or strategy review processes
Strong analytical acumen
Solid understanding of financial statements and P&L levers
Results oriented, with excellent organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to communicate with all levels of management with a wide variety of objectives
Ability to think strategically in order to develop and deploy effective strategies
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels
Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments
Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines
Exhibits resourcefulness, creativity and sound judgment
Strong customer focus with ability to identify customer needs and develop solutions that create customer value and profitability for the bank
Thorough knowledge of the credit card industry and business operations (processes and best practices)
