Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
Oversee a function of enterprise Risk Program professionals providing oversight and control related advisory services to Risk partners
Provide strategic direction on a broad and diverse range of complex global Risk program activities
Develop Risk enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards, procedures in coordination with management in line with TD's Risk Program
Work with executive team, senior business management/ partners to develop proactive strategies, tactics, policies and programs to effectively manage regulatory/ compliance issues
Contribute to the development and implementation of enterprise Risk programs related to all aspects of Risk legislation
Meet with business partners and leaders to determine Risk strategies and compliance culture
Take corrective action and recommend or implement changes to procedures, as required
Lead role in managing and in responding to periodic exams/ audits and various regulatory bodies
Participate in / lead enterprise-wide or Risk focused special projects
Oversee research, development and implementation of new processes, technologies or operating models
Work autonomously as the leader of the team and assist with development of group policies and approval of procedures in coordination with leadership team and colleagues; and promote and monitor staff adherence to approved internal Risk policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, in addition to those federally mandated
SHAREHOLDER
Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
Ensure team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall business management activities
Plan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness
Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement
Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise
Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams
Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes

Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally.
BREADTH & DEPTH
Oversee and lead a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices

Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals
Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
Generally reports to business management executive
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or
10+ years relevant experience
