Are you ready to lead complex deals and make a significant impact? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can mentor a talented team, and work with top tier clients? If you are looking to drive high value deals while growing your career, this role is for you!

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto Office.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As a Senior Project Manager in the Canadian team, you will be an active leader. You will work directly with our clients and act as an advisor throughout the deal life cycle, when Aon brings unparalleled due diligence experience, global resources, and coordination to help our clients evaluate targets, recognize red-flag issues and close deals on time and with maximum value. In this role, you will uphold the high service standards already established within the global practice. You will lead your own team of colleagues, ensuring that they uphold the same standards and supporting their professional development and growth. You will author many of the most complex deals and diligence output reports, as well as provide mentorship and peer review of projects undertaken within the Canadian team, by your team and your direct reports. You will drive deal engagements, and quickly formulate key questions and source expert answers from the broader Aon organization. You will run day-to-day communication with our clients, including deal teams, bankers, and legal advisors, and will lead the process of explaining complex concepts in a precise and explicit manner.

  • Client Engagement: Lead and run engagement with clients to deliver due diligence insights in a timely manner, of the highest quality, and in accordance with the Aon service template. In this role, you will be expected to keep the client informed throughout the M&A process, and be available to answer questions critical to the deal's success.

  • Team Leadership is expected where you will interact with your team and provide leadership daily. This includes resource allocation across multiple projects and driving the team to deliver projects of a high standard and within a timely manner. You will practice influence inside of Aon to source answers from our different industry and risk transfer experts. You will take active decisions and report to the Co-Leaders of the Canadian AMATS business.

  • Operational Excellence You will look after day-to-day operations for the Risk & Insurance Due Diligence team. This includes facilitating team meetings, staffing projects, keeping track of deal activity, and running the P&L.

  • Business development is key for this role and the success of the team. You are expected to display confidence, and willingness and ability to network and converse with senior and C-Level executives. You will demonstrate and continue to build your network of Canadian M&A professionals to source deals and engagements. You will partner with Aon’s Account Executives to drive recurring engagements with our clients across human and risk capital solutions.

  • Thought Leadership You will lead client meetings and present on topics of interest. You will attend and participate in M&A events and presentations. With the support of Aon’s marketing team, you will write and publish topical articles.

    How this opportunity is different

Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team provides both deal advisory services, and a range of transaction solutions to clients undertaking M&A activity both in North America and on a global scale.

Our broader advisory capabilities include Cyber Security, Climate impact analysis, Human Capital (pension, heath and benefits, compensation, talent) and Intellectual Property advisory. Second, our Transactions Solutions capabilities deliver structured risk transfer instruments covering a range of unknown and contingent risks. Representation & Warranty (R&W) insurance, contingent tax, and litigation risk solutions are core focus areas.

The growth of Aon Canada and AMATS globally will create opportunities for career progression with the potential to move into leadership roles, take on greater responsibility, and own and drive initiatives either within AMATS or Aon Canada. More broadly, as a global organization, Aon offers significant career opportunities for its high-performing talent.
