We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for our Conveyance team in Toronto, ON, who will help lead and execute high-profile projects focused on conveyance infrastructure, including pipelines and pumping stations. Your Role
In this role, you will oversee the design, planning, and delivery of conveyance projects, working closely with engineers and designers to ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction. You will manage project teams, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and guide the development of detailed designs for complex water and wastewater systems. You will also be a key player in business development, building relationships with clients, and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
Lead the design and execution of municipal and industrial conveyance systems, including water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
Manage the technical direction of projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering their development and supporting team collaboration.
Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare high-quality engineering reports, proposals, specifications, and contract documents.
Oversee the preparation of hydraulic and hydrological analyses, ensuring solutions meet the technical, environmental, and financial requirements of the project.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedule, budget, and scope, while ensuring quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to strategic business development efforts by building relationships with current and potential clients and identifying opportunities for future work.
Assist with construction-phase services, including reviewing submittals, addressing design questions, and conducting site visits.
Ensure that all project activities are aligned with Jacobs' commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Passion for the water industry and serving municipal clients
A minimum of 10 years experience in conveyance design or related engineering fields, including experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
Project leadership and management experience including demonstrated experience leading and managing small to mid-size, multi-disciplined, water or wastewater projects with construction values ranging from under $1M to several million dollars
Proven expertise in designing and managing water and wastewater conveyance systems, including pipelines, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, etc.).
Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Experience preparing technical proposals and competitive bids, with a strong understanding of client requirements and project constraints.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
Experience with hydraulic modeling, including tools such as InfoWorks or similar.
Strong project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
Prior experience working in a consulting engineering environment and managing client relationships.
A passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
Experience with sustainable and innovative design solutions.
