WM Supervisor, Recycling Facility in Toronto, Ontario

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Recycling Facility is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of the team and processes at our Recycling Facility in Etobicoke.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring procedures are in place to maximize productivity and efficiency.

  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed consistently.

  • Manage employee schedules and operational activities to keep the facility running effectively.

  • Investigate, implement, and monitor company policies, ensuring full compliance.

  • Review work performance to ensure quality and timeliness, maintaining high standards for both.

  • Ensure maintenance of equipment and facilities to avoid downtime and ensure smooth operations.

  • Lead employee coaching, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Compile and analyze daily transaction data.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and month-end reports to senior management.

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in operational processes.

  • Administer production data, safety programs, and maintenance tracking.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role involves supervising approximately 20 full-time employees, including administrative staff, sorters/laborers, and equipment operators.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing operations in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with Profit & Loss (P&L) and safety programs.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
