The position of Transcriptionist is part of the medical office and administrative team. Under the direction of the Medical Office Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and completing clerical work for the medical office team by facilitating high quality standards for the medical office services to support high levels of client care both in the clinic and for any subsequent communication.

Here’s how

  • Liaise with doctors to proactively ensure letters are dictated and returned in a timely manner

  • Proofread dictated letters and feedback booklets to ensure proper spelling, grammar, and formatting

  • Collate medical reports and compile feedback reports

  • Upload and download dictated letters to and from transcription service

  • Liaise with transcription service for any discrepancies

  • Mailing, scanning, faxing and uploading of patient reports

  • Other general administrative duties as the job requires


You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar function

  • Medical Terminology Certificate considered an asset

  • Typing speed of at least 65 words per minute (wpm)

  • Previous experience with EMR systems

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with customized databases

  • Customer service oriented with a commitment to quality

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational abilities

  • Autonomous, reliable, punctual and ability to use good judgement

  • Strong time management skills with positive influence on productivity within the team workflow

  • Knowledge of PHIPPA; adhere to client confidentiality guidelines
