Job Title: RF Field Engineer
Job Description
The RF Engineer plays an essential role in the process of understanding customer needs, translating them into requirements and formulating affordable solutions.
This position works closely with the customer and engineering staff to provide a solution with the best value for the customer. The RF Engineer needs to have a wide array of technical skills and be able to work independently.
The successful candidate will be required to coordinate multi-disciplined teams in a consolidated effort to successfully support systems for microwave measurement of various test items such as antennas and radomes for radar, communications, satellite data transfer and other applications.
Must Have Skills
Willing to travel 30-40% after 3-6 month training
Experience working in relevant industries such as Defense, Aviation/Aerospace, Space, etc.
Experience with test equipment: oscilloscope, network analyzer / VNA, RF power meter, spectrum analyzer
Strong understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) theory and principles
Strong background in RF systems such as radar or satellite
Ability to analyze diverse requirements in RF/Microwave measurements with a good understanding of mechanical systems
Strong analytical skills to understand complex technical systems and problem solve
Strong written and verbal communication skills (this is a client facing role)
Significant experience with customer interaction and systems design and/or analysis
Must be able to team with many departments to develop solutions for the customer consistent with our business goals

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills
Familiarity with microwave antenna design and measurement
Hands-on experience with a variety of antenna test ranges and knowledge of mechanical positioning systems
Troubleshooting system level electronic systems
Robotics, Motion Control Systems
Performing bench level measurements of RF Active and Passive Components such as: LNA, Amplifiers, Couplers, Power Dividers, Limiters, Mixers, Frequency Multipliers, Diplexers, and Filters
Support customer test/production facilities on regularly scheduled or as-required basis
RF system design, specification development and interpretation, microwave communications

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Torrance, California.
Travel 30-40% to client sites in the greater Los Angeles area
