Hourly rate: $17 - $22 /hr dependent on class year

Responsibilities

Stellant Systems currently has an opportunity for a number of Summer Supply Chain Interns to join the Torrance, California team. In this position individuals will support and learn from a number of different Supply Chain functions including, Master Scheduling, Material Planning, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Production Planning, Inventory Management & Data Analytics while supporting multiple products that include, Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs), Electronic Power Conditioners (EPCs) and Microwave Power Modules (MPMs).

These products support a variety of commercial and military systems for space / terrestrial communications, radar and electronic warfare. As a Supply chain Intern, you will work with a diverse team across multiple functions including, supply chain, engineering, operations, program management or other personnel to learn and build your skills, experience and knowledge. Each intern will be given a primary project to be mentored and presented upon the end of the internship, but opportunity for other tasks is available as well. We are excited to bring in new bright Supply Chain interns that can make a positive impact at Stellant this year !

Potential Internship Roles would reside within one of the below Supply Chain Functions:

  • Master Scheduling : Support TWT design through modeling / analysis, support TWT production thru targeted effort to improve build or test process.

  • Material Planning : Support power supply design through modeling / analysis, support power supply production thru targeted effort to improve build & test process.

  • Production Planning : Concentrated support of a specific assembly and process, ideal with a goal for improved touch time, yield, automation or similar

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Concentrated support of a specific test area (TWT or power supply RF or electrical performance and environmental testing) with a goal for improved touch time, yield, automation or similar

  • Strategic Sourcing : Concentrated support for a specific core competency (epoxies / potting, welding / brazing / laser welding, cleaning / etching, metallizing, ESCA / SEM / DPA).

  • Inventory Management : Concentrated project to develop / upgrade test software or automate / record from specific manufacturing equipment

Qualifications

Must be a continuing student with at least 2 years of relevant Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Mathematics or computer sciences education. Must have a solid academic background, effective communication, and interpersonal skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform for specific roles listed above may include (but are not required):

  • Excellent planning, prioritization, problem solving skills.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and be a fast learner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
