    What You’ll Work On

The HR Generalist performs human resources-related duties and responsibilities, which include the following functional areas: recruitment and on-boarding, Talent sourcing through external partnerships with academic and practitioner organizations, compensation and benefit administration, talent development, legal compliance, internal HR communication, culture development, and other HR projects as assigned.

This position is based in Townsville, Northern Queensland, Australia and provides on-site HR support for this office, while also providing remote HR services throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region in coordination with the site Managing Directors. APAC sites include offices in China, India, Thailand and Japan.

You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

  • Play a key role to maintain a strong culture in accordance with the Campbell Scientific’s core ARCTIC values -- Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, Continuous Improvement

  • Leads the recruiting function; Assists hiring managers with job approvals, job postings, initial screening of candidates by matching experience with specific job-related requirements, scheduling of interviews, recording staffing activities within the recruiting software to ensure legal compliance, offer approvals, job offer preparation, background checks, and all internal communication relative to preparation for new hire arrival. Trains system users.

  • Leads the proactive development of external recruiting networks and partnerships with academic, practitioner and diversity organizations; coordinates participation at career fairs, college recruiting, and other events that expand channels of recruiting and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Maintains legally required postings for the sites in the region.

  • Oversees on-boarding and new hire orientation activities. Continuously improves the on-boarding process, ensuring a balance of helping the new employee become familiar with the organization and more importantly helping the organization become familiar with the new employee.

  • Coordinates immigration requirements with legal representative as needed

  • Coordinates job slotting for the APAC regional sites with the HR staff at company headquarters.

  • Oversees employee surveys to maintain pulse on morale. Compiles and reports data to ensure proper action and follow-up.

  • Gathers compensation and employment data for the local markets in the region to ensure competitive compensation and benefits.

  • Oversees interactive dialog process relative to workplace accommodations for those with disabilities.

  • May lead and drive culture improvement initiatives.

  • Assists with leadership development initiatives.

  • Other HR administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

    What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent work experience in related fields

  • 4-5 years of recruiting and human resources generalist experience.

  • Experience with HR legal compliance in Australia.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related applications.

  • Experience using HRIS software (Human Resources Information Systems) and applicant tracking systems.

  • Skilled in benefits administration.

  • Interpersonal and technology-based communication expertise.

  • Excellent recruiting and network development skills.

  • Business Acumen.

  • Cultural awareness and able to build effective working relationships in a team environment.

  • Basic compensation planning skills.

  • Knowledge of basic employment laws and business practices in other APAC regional sites a plus, but not required.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

  • May require occasional travel to regional sites.
