DESCRIPTION:
Somatus, the leader in value-based kidney care, has an immediate opening for a Data Engineer to create impact among Somatus’ clients and leadership by analyzing Somatus’ healthcare claims and care management data. This position will work collaboratively with the technology team to support our clinical, operational, and finance teams to make recommendations based on insights drawn from our data.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the development, testing and maintenanceof data and ETL solutions.
Work on small to mid-sized and cross-functional IT and business intelligence solutions.
Participate in the workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions.
Coordinate with the Product and Innovation team to review the business logic, execution and workflow of the longitudinal Care Coordination Program.
Practice business guidelines to protect PHI and ensure secure communication channels for transfer of such data.
Contribute to the business’s Data Driven Operational Excellence Initiative in the capacity of a reporting analyst and SME for the Care Coordination Program.
Exercise best practice agile communication through channels like JIRA, Confluence
Requirements
Strong coding proficiency in at least one programming language like Python or similar.
Strong experience in designing and implementing data applications.
Experience with open-source data frameworks like Spark and/or experience with cloud data platforms is preferred.
Knowledge of at least one database/data warehouse like SQL, MSSQL or Azure Synapse or similar.
Proficient in writing SQL Code either SQL queries, stored procedures etc.
Experience in data mining – extracting, storing, transforming
Analytical mind and business acumen
Problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Healthcare experience in a Payer, Provider/Hospital, Org preferred
Experience in Data DevOps is a bonus.
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, advanced Excel) and data frameworks (e.g. Azure, Cloud) is a bonus
Experience or familiar with Agile or a similar process
