U.S. Army Medical Command PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PLANNER in Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Public Health Command-Pacific (PHC-P) principal expert, advisor, and authority in conducting mid/long term planning; and strategy, policy, and guidance development for Public Health Emergencies (PHE). Responsibilities Conducts mid and long-range planning and strategy development for the USINDOPACOM and US Army Garrison PHEM program, in the context of Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) missions, visions, needs, concepts, plans, and capabilities. Utilizes public health emergency science, policy, and technical subject matter expertise to coordinate with both military and civilian personnel at all command levels and across the INDOPACOM area of operation (AOR). Coordinates and collaborates with USINDOPACOM, MRC-P, US Army Garrison Hawaii, DRUs, and Installation Management Command (IMCOM) in the development of Command and Regional All-hazards response plans, and Army Service Component Command (ASCC). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Specialized experience is defined as: Responsible for assisting in planning, programming, developing, coordinating, integrating, monitoring, and evaluating INDOPACOM programs related to command public health emergency preparedness, DOTMLPF analysis for the same, installation preparedness / protection, homeland defense (HD) and civil support (CS) missions, including the development, sustainment, integration and management oversight of public health disaster preparedness and response capabilities in a Defense Support for Civil Authority (DSCA)/ Foreign Consequence Management (FCM) mission. Education Basic Education Requirements Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
