8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Our Senior Production Supervisor is a key part of the Production department and team. This role leads all activities on a Manufacturing line across all shifts, including production supervisors and manufacturing employees, to accomplish production throughput and quality goals in a safe and cost-efficient manner. This position also manages employee performance, develops employees, and administers all company and plant policies including employee training and development.   Duties And Responsibilities: This position will be the advocate for all production activities on their production line. Lead the on the job training program for both Supervisors and Operations employees. Work with production manager and safety manager to ensure all relevant safety programs are incorporated and employees trained in safety policies. Work with Production Manager to investigate all customer complaints and production holds. Scheduling supervisors work schedules and assisting supervisors schedule their manufacturing employees. Partner with the production and CI manager to establish clear productivity improvement, waste reduction and schedule attainment goals and execute. Works with site leadership for establishing and implementing rewards and recognition framework. Work with plant functions to create a cross-functional collaborative environment. Support shipping and inventory functions for their production line. Ensure time keeping system is used consistently and appropriately. Ensure all production records are maintained accurately and consistently. Coordinate Glass and Brittle Plastics program. Coordinate GP Paste usage, Rework, and Cleanout usage. Coordinate peanut butter and roast schedules for the production line. Oversee on the job training program Leverages and administers policies to maximize output while minimizing labor costs Proactively monitors and measures production department throughput and quality metrics daily; responsible for coaching, counseling, and managing front line supervisors via timely feedback and development Partners with Health & Safety function to advance production department safety programs and improve employee safety in the workplace lead periodic team meetings to drive team alignment, productivity, and safety Utilizes a variety of communication methods to ensure all levels of organization are well informed. Support and participate during emergency situations. Provide assistance and insight in identifying corrective actions to address safety findings. Partner with sanitation function to drive compliance in production department sanitation. Assists Production Manager in developing department operating budget. Uses lean/5S manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvements and support employee training program in quality, productivity, sanitation, and safety Ensure line is following all customer, government, and company requirements for employee safety, food safety, and policies and procedures. Other duties, as assigned   Education And Experience Required: Bachelor Degree in Business (Management, Engineering, Food Processing, or other related degree) or 5+ years of Supervisory Experience. Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Must be able to work weekends, holidays, or any shift, as needed to support a 24 hour operation.   Preferred Education, Experience, And Skills: 10+ years supervisory experience Experience in Food manufacturing. Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Strategic planning skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail
