Waltonen CMM Operator - PolyWorks in Troy, Michigan
Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CMM Operator to join our team!
Responsibilities
Report to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager.
Ensure manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and drawings using a Hexagon CMM.
Mark up manufactured parts for finish machining operations as required by the manufacturing routing.
Provide subassembly personnel with inspection data when adjustments are needed to meet final accuracy requirements.
Verify that subassemblies meet the accuracy requirements specified by engineering specifications and drawings.
Create inspection reports from gathered data and process Defective Work Tickets.
Assist the Quality Manager in creating Quality Packages, including all deliverable documents for specific jobs/projects (Cert reports, First Article Inspections, Inspection Check Lists, R studies or R & R Studies, etc.).
Qualifications
1+ year of experience operating a CMM machine
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with customers, peers, and subordinates
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or the ability to quickly learn them
Willingness to work overtime as needed, with adaptability to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
Hexagon CMM experience
Familiarity with building and doweling fixtures
Quality experience, particularly with ISO9001 and/or AS9100, is preferred
A background in aerospace, automotive, or defense
Proficiency with API/Verisurf, PC-DMIS, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, or similar software
Experience with CMM or White Light Scanning is a plus
