Magna Powertrain of America Inc. Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Troy, Michigan

Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer wanted in Troy, Michigan to lead new quotation activities by providing detailed Cost Estimates to include process flows, capital investments, plant layout, tooling, work holding, gaging, perishable tooling, cycle times, planning and launch costs; Work with the manufacturing sites to establish, select, procure, and install equipment to support the launch of new electrification programs; Provide process engineering leadership, expertise, and support for all electrification processes: components and assemblies; Lead the planning phase for electrification programs and hand over to the manufacturing site for the program launch phase. Consider the required deliverables according to the global program management system and APQP requirements; Ensure the consideration of internal process standards and lessons learned, make sure that experiences and lessons learned are communicated back to the organization; Lead, develop, refine, and lead manufacturing processes in all manufacturing locations, including plant layout concepts, supply base, logistics, process flows, and workforce utilization to attain maximum efficiency of installed capacity; Lead Design-to-Cost, evaluate product specifications of components and assemblies in close coordination with Product Engineering and Purchasing; Consider latest manufacturing technologies and flexible manufacturing concepts during layouts using lean manufacturing techniques; Ensure alignment with the AME Electrification DS EU and AME DS NA organization for traditional products; Oversee and Develop master timing charts for manufacturing milestones; Maintain broad knowledge of product design, manufacture and assembly techniques; Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency; Communicate with vendors to understand and determine product specifications; and Develop standard procedures to improve manufacture processes and to reduce overall cost; Assess for eMobility product Design for Manufacturing (DFM) on gear components, including proposals for: drawings, specs., tolerances, characteristics, controls, mechanical features design changes as well as all technologies required to process; assess for eMobility products on Design for Assembly (DFA) for eDrives, including: drawings (CA) proposals, including removing exchanges, mechanical feature changes, tolerances, characteristics and select technologies; create floor plan, layouts for assembly, manufacturing, heat treatment, warehouse including AutoCad drawings and cost calculation.
