Waltonen Shipping and Receiving Associate in Troy, Michigan
Independence Tooling is actively seeking a shipping and receiving associate to join our team!
Responsibilities
Report to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager
Receive and register deliveries promptly and accurately, distributing items to appropriate departments
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and monitor stock levels, reordering supplies as needed
Utilize an ERP system to manage inventory and shipping records
Organize and clean stock areas regularly, cataloging items efficiently for easy retrieval
Address any shipping-related issues promptly and collaborate with team members to resolve inventory-handling challenges
Safely operate hi-los, cranes, and other material-handling equipment (training provided), following safety protocols and maintaining equipment in good working condition
Occasionally pick up and deliver parts or packages as necessary
Use hand or power tools as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a shipping or receiving role
Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures, including how to handle various types of loads safely and efficiently
Ideally, the candidate has worked in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management
Experience using ERP systems is highly desirable
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays as needed, with adaptability to fluctuating workloads
Must possess a valid and current driver's license
