In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Minimum Qualifications : Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience (or) Bachelor’s Degree. Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Access and Google Suite. Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills to handle a high volume of internal and public contact. A high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail required as well as the ability to cope with competing work demands. Experience working in a postsecondary institution and knowledge of Banner preferred.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Technical Assistant, High School Programs reports to the Director of High School Programs under the department of Educational Partnerships, and performs the following duties:

  • Responds to oral and written communications, both internal and external, and prepares written communications and materials for distribution.

  • Monitors the application process for hiring high school teachers as adjunct instructors in collaboration with HVCC Department Chairpersons.

  • Prepares cooperative agreements with school districts and coordinates their completion with appropriate school and HVCC personnel.

  • Monitors high school student enrollment process through the Voyager registration system in cooperation with the Registrar’s and Student Financial Services Offices.

  • Acts as a liaison between high school faculty, school counselors, and administrators and the College’s administrative and academic units.

  • Interacts daily with internal campus departments, including HVCC Department Chairpersons and Deans, and the Registrar’s, Student Financial Services, Scheduling and Distance Learning Offices.

  • Facilitates the preparation and finalization of the course planning worksheets in collaboration with high school administration.

  • Makes updates to CIHS sections on the master schedule as needed.

  • Assists in the organization of all related material and documentation necessary for program evaluation and/or accreditation.

  • Coordinates the logistics of special events for high school students, faculty, and staff.

  • Facilities the scholarship process for eligible high school students including request tracking, application to student accounts, and reporting.

  • Coordinates publications and information for the web with the Communication and Marketing Departments.

  • Assists in preparation of relevant reports using Access databases, Excel and Argos.

  • Creates and organizes tracking for travel requests and reimbursement, as necessary.

  • Assists other functional areas as directed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned and acts on the Director’s behalf in their absence.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $41,000-$42,500.
