Regional NPI Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process and product meeting to drive DFM Analysis or MFG feasibility study, implementing improvement ideas during the NPI project.

  • Working with project team members, develop or improve processes by using advanced quality planning or DMAIC to ensure process performance meets the required quality, cost and capacity target for new product.

  • Integrate professional master work instruction, PFMEA, control plan, pilot and project summary to proceed.

  • Author process improvement capability plans. Complete technical reports for internal publication.

  • Working with the project team and process engineering team, ensure product quality requirements are met prior to closure of project.

  • Visibly support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship for teams of engineers and technicians across multiple locations.

  • Maybe asked to drive project teams of engineers, technicians, and peers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Optical Physics or related field, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 2 years total of process engineer, advanced quality engineer or manufacturing engineering experience

Required skills:

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Good problems solving and analytical capabilities (particularly statistical analysis).

  • Excellent communication and leadership-through-influence skills.

  • High initiative, able to work with a minimum of direction, and able to work in team environment.

  • Minimum 50% English

Desired skills:

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of optical fiber cable and connectivity.

  • Experience in the development or manufacturing of fiber array unit or connector assemblies.

  • Training and/or practical experience in a field involving optical physics.

  • Green Belt DMAIC certified.

  • APQP or NPI experience in OEM model a plus.

  • Experience with Lean, time observation and capacity analysis.

  • Experience with deployment of new equipment into manufacturing (Early Equipment Management).

  • Experience designing error-proofing solutions for new product and process.
