E-shift is from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week. Prior to beginning work on E-shift, the selected candidate must complete a full-time training program which will take place during day shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. The day-shift training period will last three to six months. At the completion of training, the candidate shall transition from day shift to E-shift. The structure of the day shift training program and transition to E-shift is a non-modifiable aspect of this position.\ \ Position Summary\ \ The following defines the responsibilities of a Composite Technician II as required to meet and support the needs of the Kahr Bearing Production. The Composite Technician II is responsible for the manufacturing of pre-impregnated (pre-preg) material for use in self-lubricating bearings. The Composite Technician II is also responsible for complying with operating and quality systems procedures as stated in process bulletins and specifications.\ \ Responsibilities
- Perform mixing of resins, adhesives and coating of fabrics in industrial quantities
- Perform production machinery set up and monitoring in compliance with process controls and established protocols
- Ensure appropriate planning to obtain and prepare materials required for daily production run
- Ensure proper settings of production equipment and process controls in accordance with established protocols
- Perform inspection of products during production runs
- Perform job tasks according to procedures and schedules using established safe methods and processes
- Cleaning of production machinery to control FOD and maintain product quality
- Create and/or complete necessary production related paperwork
- Operate equipment including forklift, hoist, etc. to move materials and supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Maintain total quality assurance
- Carry out tasks with minimal supervision and strict attention to detail
- Work with team to identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities
- Contribute to the continuous development of the safety, health and environment requirements within the team\'s work area
- Comply with all Health and Safety Work Regulations
- Other tasks as directed by the Kahr Coating Facility supervisor/Engineering
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year employment as a Kahr Bearing Composite Technician I or 3 years prior experience working with composites in an aerospace, manufacturing environment or technical role or 3 years prior experience in pre-preg manufacturing
- Completion of a three to six (3-6) month introductory training period
- Ability to setup and perform all pre-preg manufacturing operations and calculations unaided
- Ability to troubleshoot coating equipment issues and run quality control testing for resins and liners
- Ability to train other operators on all Composite Technician II functions
- Experience with handling chemicals, shelf life of materials, scales, ovens, mechanical devices
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and accurate measurements
- Ability to read and decipher specifications, work orders, and material safety data sheets
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Must be able to read/comprehend, write, communicate orally and analyze data
- Expe ience with use of hand and other tools in the area employed
- Complete in-house training with regards to equipment operation, production methods and job expectations
- Ability to work independently
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required
- Good human relations skills and the ability to work well with others - a team player

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with handling, mixing, and applying resins and adhesives
- Experience working with resin impregnated fibrous materials and adhesives
- Experience with handling industrial quantities of chemicals, shelf life of materials, scales, ovens, mechanical devices preferred
- Hazmat experience and training
- Experienced with forklift operation, prior or current forklift certification
- Working knowledge of mechanics and electronics
- Ability to quickly comprehend industry-related technical terms
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The employee will be required to move throughout the building to collect, handle and process production
