Medical Records Assistant
Children’s Clinics is seeking a Full-Time (English/Spanish) Medical Records Assistant.
As a member of the team, the Medical Records Assistant is responsible for maintaining confidentiality of records and ensuring they are complete, accurate, and adhere to Joint Commission, state, and federal standards.
This position is responsible for:
Collect, coordinate, maintain and release patient medical records as per facility established policies and procedures
Ensures the completeness and availability of all patient medical records as needed
Maintains medical records functions to include pulling, copying, and filing, assembling, and retrieving patient records
Ensures releases of information are HIPAA compliant.
Processes confidential releases of information and records the entries in a confidential manner
Performs clerical work including sorting, assembling, and scanning documents utilizing an EMR/EHR system
Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information while delivering exceptional customer service
Communicates with staff and providers
Performs other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Experience:
One year related experience and/or training required
Licenses and Certificates:
RHIT or RHIA certification preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skill and familiarity with Practice Management Systems
Skill and knowledge of maintaining an EHR system; NextGen knowledge preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient data according to HIPAA regulations
Ability to assist clinical operations with all medical records processes
Fingerprint Clearance:
Employees are required to maintain a current Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Proof of a current fingerprint clearance card must be received within 90 days of employment.
