Who are we looking for?
GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Engineer/Scientist to support our Western U.S. environmental team, based out of either Tucson or Phoenix, Arizona. The team provides environmental assessment, remediation, and compliance services to both public and private sector clients, across a broad range of industries including aerospace, mining, energy, manufacturing, and rail transportation clients. Our assessment and remediation projects are managed within the framework of Federal Superfund and/or State remediation programs.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership, project management, and advanced technical skills relating to assessment and remediation of soil and groundwater. We are seeking self-motivated and active networkers who value building credible relationships with clients and the community.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to::
- Managing projects, including budgets, project teams and timelines
- Providing leadership to the project/office team and in project delivery
- Directing and overseeing Superfund environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of technical environmental reports
- Establishing, growing, and maintaining client relationships
- Supporting, supervising, and mentoring junior team members in a learning and collaborative environment
- Working within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental expertise to other GHD teams
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may entail supporting other GHD office locations
- Identifying and supporting business development, client expansion,
and proposal development activities for GHD\'s environmental
practice including:
- Preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of proposals
- Winning new projects with new and existing clients
- Coordinating meetings and leading presentations to new prospective clients
- Supporting GHD\'s business development team and client relationship programs
- Maintaining membership and participation in Arizona and/or national environmental industry groups and associations to support networking with clients and recruiting of additional talent.
What you will bring to the team:
- Strong leadership skills
- Working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis, and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air, and groundwater
- Experience in the technical delivery of environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Experience communicating with clients and regulators
- Experience developing conceptual site models and preparing remediation strategies
- Experienc developing and preparing reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and the project team
- Experience preparing graphics and reports that present complex technical content in a clear and concise format
- Understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- A commitment to client service
- Problem solving abilities and proficiency
- Willingness to travel, including overnight trips to meet with clients, or visit project sites
- Environmental compliance and permitting experience a plus.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related field relevant to environmental site assessment and remediation
- 10+ years of experience
- Arizona registered geologist or engineer, or ability to attain within six months
