The P-8 Sustainment Systems Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) is looking for a Software Verification Engineer to support fleet Integrated Health Management efforts. This position will represent the Sustainment organization to the United States Navy (NAVAIR/NAVSUP/DLA/CPRG), as well as Boeing Military Aircraft (BMA) and Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) integrated product teams (IPTs), as well as P-8 International customers. A person in this position will support P-8 Aircraft Health Management Systems (AHMS) and Ground Health Management Systems (GHMS).

Position Responsibilities:

  • The person selected will develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and/or designs for software systems.

  • Have the ability to develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

  • Performs software project management and software supplier management functions.

  • Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.

  • Executes and documents software research and development projects.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

  • A person in this position shall work independently and also take direction/guidance.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, or foreign equivalent

  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • 1+ Years of experience in software architecture development and verification

  • Experience with XML

  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of direct experience do you have with Integrated Vehicle Health Management systems

  • 1+ years of experience do you have analyzing systems and data to improve aircraft and/or trainer availability

  • Citap experience

  • Experience with the P-8 program

  • Experience with BORIS, TFS, Version 1, JIRA, MS Project and/or other Project Management tools

  • Experience with change management

  • Experience in writing technical software requirements

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Hybrid/Telecommute :

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Tukwila, WA).
