Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Engineering Specialist – Industrial Services, the right person will be responsible for ensuring competent and compliant industrial services management. Ensuring food and people safety in industrial services at optimal cost, efficiency, reliability of both generation and distribution of utilities. i.e. steam, refrigeration, water and effluent treatment, hygienic air handling and compressed air. Reporting on the sustainability roadmaps for market, covering energy, carbon and water. Facilitating the Industrial Services network within the market and managing the additives and market draughting resource.

A day in the life of Group Engineering Specialist – Industrial Services

This role reports directly to the Chief Engineer and provides support to the UK market and all its categories. The main role includes but not limited to the below

• Ensure compliance in the competency of people working in Industrial Services in the market.

• Manages and performs market industrial services audits to comply to both local legal legislation and internal standards ( ST-907) for Industrial Services.

• Leads the Industrial Services Network with regular meetings to support and promote collaboration between all sites in the Market.

• Supports plans and designs for modification and improvements to industrial services plant, equipment and infrastructure. Utilising own area of competency and specialisation or with competent 3rd parties.

• Supports operation of industrial services to ensure high efficiency, quality and compliance. Report on roadmaps for operations covering energy, carbon and water reduction, so ensuring market is achieving compliance to commitments and market targets. Investigate opportunities for provision of zero carbon alternative fuel sources.

• Line manager for market drafting team and the Additive Maintenance Team

• Acts as liaison between Factories and Utility providers and supports Market Energy procurement.

• Keeps abreast of upcoming legislation and guidance both externally and internally in Industrial Services and creates plans to ensure compliance or leveraging of financial support schemes (i.e. IETF).

What will make you successful?

The right person will have a successful career in Engineering including,

• Proven track record within industrial services covering areas such as pressure system regulations, boiler management, water management and legionella, effluent treatment, compressed air & industrial refrigeration

• Evidence of Influencing and coaching skills to use within the market network

• Engineering Degree or equivalent
