We are looking for a Production Engineering Manager to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As a Production Engineering Manager, you will lead the team, provide production support, process optimization, new product introduction (NPI and product build transfers. You will be self-motivated, goal driven, and a team player who can enthusiastically collaborate with other colleagues.

Your Challenge :

  • Lead the Team:

  • Lead with a passion for operational excellence. Instil this within the culture of the team. Be skilled in team management, empowering others and delegating. Demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and maximising team performance.

  • Production Support:

  • Support the timely and consistent delivery of all production demand. Respond to stoppages and quality issues. Plan, organize and manage resources and parts, to maintain all equipment maintenance schedules required to operate effectively to meet schedule requirements and minimize downtime.

  • Lean Manufacturing / Process Optimisation:

  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency. Implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Working with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production. Contribute to the design process ensuring design for manufacture is embedded throughout. Develop manufacturing plans, process documentation, and training materials for NPI projects.

  • Product Build Transfers:

  • Lead the transfer of product lines to alternative manufacturing facilities. Working across teams to ensure transfers are delivered on-time, within budget and with risks identified and appropriately mitigated.

Your Expertise:

  • Essential:

  • Team leadership experience.

  • A sound engineering background with an ability to realise and solve technical problems.

  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Desirable:

  • Qualification in Management to Level 3 or above (CMI Certificate in Management or equivalent).

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline.

  • Previous experience in a production engineering environment.
