WISCONSIN DEPT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS Food Service Assistants (UG) in UNION GROVE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under general supervision, the Food Service Aide interprets diet orders on tray lines following food safety and sanitation standards. This position also assists with quantity food production, performs breakfast or grill cooking, transports food carts between kitchen and servery areas, and works catered functions. The employee is an important part of the Dietary Services team. Job Details Job duties include moving carts weighing an average of 500 pounds safely through hallways; moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance; and performing medium to heavy manual labor. The positions work a standard 10-hour shift (5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), work weekends on a rotating basis, and require working overtime as needed. In a two-week pay period, one position works M, Tu, F, Sa, Su, Tu, Th, F. One position works Su, Tu, Th, F, Tu, W, F, Sa. Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. Employment in the position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information by their third day of employment.
