This position is on the Business & Legal Affairs team responsible for providing business and legal support for UP&E. UP&E handles the licensing of NBCUniversal film and television properties for merchandising, publishing, video games, digital and interactive uses, and commercial tie-ins/promotions. This role will primarily focus on assisting group attorneys with respect to consumer products, including drafting legal documents, research on intellectual property rights, and other duties, as assigned.

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000
Responsibilities include:
Draft, edit, and review a high volume of license agreements, and related documents, associated with the licensing and marketing of intellectual property content for consumer products.
Draft demand letters, cease and desists, and various marketing agreements.
Liaise with internal clients to verify and ensure that the negotiated terms are accurately reflected within agreements.
Work directly with internal business units and attorneys to help identify proposed solutions for license-related issues.
Conducting legal research on various issues related to entertainment law, such as intellectual property.
Interact with various internal clients and external licensees, including attorneys and business affairs executives.
Organize and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems.
Provide additional support to the group as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years paralegal experience at a major law firm, or comparable studio, or corporate experience.
3+ years' experience of contract drafting in professional environment.
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Flexibility with a proactive can-do approach.
Entertainment, media/technology, intellectual property, or other relevant subject matter expertise strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus but not required.
Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in Universal City, CA a minimum of three days per week.
