JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Communications and Signal Processing Division of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking engineering and other technical undergraduate interns to work part-time with senior technical staff to research, design, develop, integrate, and test advanced signal processing algorithms for performance and cyber security related aspects.
ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Responsibilities include: Evaluation of signal processing results for completeness and accuracy Generation of suggestions for processing algorithm improvement Use of various ARL and Government provided analysis tools Support to the preparation of algorithm performance reports Evaluate processing results from an operational security perspective
Interns pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security or Math are preferred.
Interest in the following is highly desired: Intelligence analytics Signal Processing Information Warfare
Preferred Experience includes: Imagery and Signals Analysis Communications protocols Familiarity with wireless specifications such as cellular(4G/5G)/Wi-Fi (802.11) MATLAB/LabVIEW modeling and simulation RF principles Wireless/cyber security Malware Analysis
This part-time position is located at the ARL Building at University Park campus; relocation is not provided. Selected candidate may work up to 20 hours/week during the academic year and up to 40 hours/week during non-academic times.
